Public Access Defibrillation Programs

One of the most traumatic events any organization can experience is the on-site death of a coworker, customer, or visitor. While these events are fortunately rare, adequate preparedness is vital to giving the victim the best chance for survival.
Whenever a person experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest, timely application of an electrical shock to heart from a special piece of medical equipment called a defibrillator is essential to have any hope of successful resuscitation. For each minute that goes by while the victim is in cardiac arrest, the odds of resuscitation fall by nearly 10%. Delays of just a few minutes can make the difference.
Previously this was a skill reserved for paramedics, physicians, and critical care nurses. With the development of Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, individuals with very little medical training can provide this potentially life-saving shock. This life-saving tool can now be an important part of a workplace emergency medical response plan.
The Life Support Training Center can assess your worksite for general safety concerns with an emphasis on emergency medical preparedness. The Life Support Training Center can aid in designing and equipping an emergency medical responder team in your organization including placement of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the workplace.
