Neonatal Resuscitation Program

The NRP Course is designed to give the Healthcare provider the basic knowledge to care for the neonatal patient in cardiac arrest and to manage resuscitation efforts in conditions that may lead to arrest.  During this course you will learn by observing, discussing, and doing.  NRP instructors will help you achieve success in completing the following objectives.

Validation:
Participants who complete the class will receive a Neonatal Resuscitation Program provider card.  The card is valid for a two-year period.  Participants will also receive documentation of appropriate continuing medical education credit.  This course is approved for Nursing, Physician, Pharmacy, and EMS credit.

Course Length:

Provider course - One day (4 to 7 hours)

I. Patient Positioning

II. Suctioning techniques    

III. Use of Oxygen

IV. Bag Mask Ventilations    

V. Chest compressions

VI. Endotracheal Intubation

VII. Neonatal medications
